Hi,

Just had a replacement switch sent and when powered on does'nt boot. It goes to a " switch> " command.

From here you have to manually type boot,

It then loads. Is there anyway of changing this so it automatically boots the running config.

Cheers

Sounds like cisco left the config register in the wrong setting while they repaired it , try changing the config register . Don't have a 3500 but a 2900 register setting is 0Xf . Change this and reboot and see what happens , i have seen this before with replacement switches where Cisco techs get sloppy and don't put the register back to the correct setting .

Ive already checked this against other switches and the conf reg is already set to 0xf

Im totally at a loss apart from getting them to replace this one as well.

Thanks for the input

Do the command "boot system flash:(what ever it shows in flash) . Write memory the config and try rebooting . If you do a show boot does it match what it says when you do a "dir flash: ?
