CISCO 3500 and Embedded Controller

We manufacture a product, using a Windows CE O/S, and an SMSC 91C111 Ethernet Controller. We have had problems communicating through a Cisco 3500 Switch. These switches are installed on our customer sites. We have had problems with both Port Security, and Loss of Connectivity issues. We have no problem communicating through a standard LAN, or DSL line to the internet.
Does any know what settings may be causing problems with an embedded ethernet product, and a CISCO 3500?

Does the controller do auto speed/duplex negotiation ? First i would check to see what the switch port settings are for speed/duplex , if set as auto your controller must be capable of auto otherwise hardcode the speed/duplex to the correct setting for the controller. When you say port security what are you referring to .

As I understand, the 3500 Cisco products has some port security features. I am actually getting a 3500 to "play" with. One issue a customer told us is that our product showed up with multiple MAC addresses...They had a limit on that, so the port shut down. I will verify what information they are talking about.

the 3550 can have the features you are talking about but someone would have had to specifically configured to limit the amount of mac addresses per port , by default they are wide open to the amount of addresses per port .
