Having searched as best as possible, I can't seem to find any documentation for assigning an access-list to a single switch port. The only function I can find is for assigning to a VLAN which I don't need.

The port I'm trying to assign the extended access-list to is Fa0/9, which is grouped in VLAN 2. All the books I have refer to the command for a 1900 switch, yet I can't find anything online for the Catalyst 2912XL.

Can anyone help, or point me in the right direction.

Hmm, I think you are trying to do something the wrong way.

If what you have is a layer 3 switch, you can make access-lists and apply them to vlans, but not to switchports.

If your switch is simply a layer 2 switch, you have no access-list options.
