Could someone please tell me why I receive "Bad Mask" when I attempt to put in a secondary address. The address range is 212.54.224.128 netmask 255.255.255.128. I have 212.54.224.128/25 for my block.

I tried to enter it using;
config t
ip address 212.54.224.128 255.255.255.128 secondary
then enter and I receive the error.

What is the proper procedure for adding an address and then saving it to memory so it remains there after you restart.

Thank you for your time.

You can't use 212.54.224.128 its the network address. Use 212.54.224.129.

Dah!!! You are absolutely right. I guess I wasn't thinking.

Thanks for your help.

I THINK THE CORRECT ANSWER IS

212.54.224.0
212.54.224.126

"I THINK THE CORRECT ANSWER IS

212.54.224.0
212.54.224.126"

Errrr .... I don't! That's not his assigned range. Moetech is correct.

Chris.
