Hi,

We have a Cisco 1720 Modular Access router. I have looked at the available documentation and am not clear if it is possible to use this router as a VPN host. I would like to be able to have this router authenticate VPN requests from machines running remote VPN clients such as the Windows VPN client or the SafeNet VPN client or a Cisco VPN client. Please let me know if this is possible. I did find documentation that explains how this router can act as a VPN client to a VPN 3000 Series concentrator though this would require me to purchase this additional hardware.

Salil.

The 1720 can operate as a VPN Server, but you need to have the VPN feature set (part of the IOS license).

HTH,
Michael.
