I have a Cisco 1706, which is a Basic Router with an Ethernet and an ISDN BRI Interface.

Looking through the documentation, there is an example configuration that turns the ISDN interface into an analog one, allowing the modem to be plugged into either a regular phone line, or a leased line.

I haven't tried yet, because there is no other documentation that shows this, and I wanted to see if anyone has tried it before with the 1706.

Thank you!

I've not tried this with the 1706, but have had a similar set up on a 3600 series.

In that application the router needed a modem card fitting, then when the analogue user dialed in over ISDN the call was routed internally onto one of the modems. This way users with both ISDN and analogue modems could be supported by dialing into the ISDN port on the router.

You may need some extra hardware to support the configuration you describe, I know the 1700 series support internal cards on the AIM slot.
