cisco 1700 isdn backup

Hi,
I'd like to know how 2 cisco 1750 know if the hdsl line between them is on.
My problem is that if I shutdown an hdsl modem connected to one cisco, this notices that the main line is down and the backup isdn line comes up.
But if, for some provider's problems, line goes down my
ciscos don't notice this also if no traffic is more allowed.

I presume you're using backup interface. You can try using dialer-watch.. It's much more fool-proof than backup interface. Orlando Palomar Jr

Dialer-watch has been around for a while. It shouldn't be a problem on 12.0 Orlando Palomar Jr
