I accidentally disconnected the plug while im using my comp and when i tried to boot again theres a message "CMOS checksum: bad F1 for setup f2 for the last good known configuration, i pressed f2 and i can use my computer again. The problem is that everytime i boot my comp the same message appear. How can i remove the message about the cmos checksum? Im using a winxp pro operating system. Thanks

Pretty much, go F1 setup, make sure the date/time current, and Exit with Save

This has nothing to do with XP this is a message about your CMOS. You'll need to press F1 and make the appropriate settings. Be very careful what you do here - if you're not sure what these settings should be, exit without saving.

The problem is that i dont know the correct settings, all i know is the correct processor and time. i dont which to enable and disable

Hi there lara19, just use the DEFAULT values and you should be fine... I mean you are not tweaking the hell out of the PC for a notch of extra speed, etc.

Don't forget to F10 it (Exit and Save), if the Message reoccurs after saving the default values... then it's time for a new Battery...

Thanks for the info. Ill try it when i get home. Thanks again

There will be a restore defaults option, and you should be ok, actually when you press F2 this is probably what is being done, And your putr runs ok then?

If i press f2 everythings ok. the only problem is when i restart my comp agin coz the message appears again
