I have reformatted my harddrive and reinstalled 98SE the computer starts firing up then comes up with the message CHECKSUM ERROR 60B8H. Can anybody help me please.

Checksum = bad data transfer or an incomplete file. You will have to reinstall Win98, it MAY or MAY NOT work...

If that fails scan your HDD for errors and format it and start from scratch. This is usually an indication of bad sectors or a damaged HDD.
