The AOL client will utilize port 80 if all else fails, so you will need to block this at the application layer or a proxy/URL filter.
The devices with the most success that I have seen are URL filters that examine all web based traffic and match policies that are controlled simlar to a Firewall policy. You can find more info at:
Or block all access to the AOL mail servers, using NSLOOKUP you should be able to find all of the addresses. For IM, block all access to IP associated with login.oscar.aol.com.
