checking email twice

always checking and receiving email twice.
does anyone know how to correct this?

Is there any chance we're talking about a hotmail account here? If so, this is a known problem. The workaround is to not be viewing any of your hotmail folders when sending & recieving. You may want to uncheck the option for 'When starting go directly to my inbox'.

actually i have 4 accounts but all are different and in different places. i did find something, when i create mail where it has my account info like your email address beside it ,it is in [ ] again.
