Checking against backup

I'm sure I'm missing something but I have no idea how to do this, We
have had some files go missing across a file system last week... I
know that the system was ok on Thursday so how do I test what we
currently have against last Thursdays backup?

I have ideas but they all seem to complicated and I don't want to
reinvent the wheel...

When yo start the recover process, just set the browse time to thursday night and browse through your file index.
