Hi all -

I'm trying to add sip trunks to our new cisco call manager (r7)from our cs1000 r 5.5. I have followed some docs that are posted and all seems to go as planned. However, when I try to add the RDB I get an error ---

SCH1613
Only Virtual Trunk zone is allowed.
Check Zone Intent in the LD 117.
Severity: Minor

I can't seem to get around this and I can't find where I need to look in overlay 117. I'm having one of those days.

Does anyone know where to find this information in 117?

Many thanks

You are looking for a zone with an intent of VTRK if you don't have one create one. There are 3 diferent intents MO (Main Office), BMG (Branch Office) and VTRK (Virtual Trunk).

You can get help in 117 by using "?" also you can start a command then use it like:

=> new zone ?

This will give you the help on adding a zone

Thanks for the feedback. I guess I had everything right but I'm still a little confused about one thing. We have SIP trunks between two Nortel CS1000 switches and they are using zone 100. I was going to use the same zone for the SIP trunks to the Cisco which is when the error code popped up. I looked at zone 100 in overlay 117 and it is set up as "MO" rather than VTRK. I'm not sure how the guys that were here before got this working with that set up.

I'll set up a new zone and move forward but if anyone has some thoughts on how this works please let me know. Print outs below...

Zone 100 was probably built before you upgraded to 4.5

Before 4.5. there was no zone intent

Thanks guys -

Yes - the SIP truks were installed a long time ago so that makes sense. I have a new zone set up and we are going to configure the CM tomorrow so ... fingers crossed ... all should go well. I appreciate the feedback because it just did not make sense. I was looking in all the right places but could not see anything marked VTRK - was going in circles.
