I Created some VMPro Modules that take the $CLI of the calling user and then Insert TimeDate into SQL Database for Checking in and Check out of one of our Internal Systems.

The Problem is that I'm using 2 Buttons and that there is no Status on the Phone. the Manager wants a Button like the DoNotDisturb that Inverts the Color to Indicate the Check-in/Check-Out Status.

I'm not sure how to create a Button like that that then Called the VMPro Module to do the Check/In Out and have the Button Display the Current Status.

Is there another way to do this using a Single button that shows a Status? I can Query the Status if needed to Invert the Button.

Is it Possible to Assign these to the Bottom Buttons vs the Side Button, Next to SpDial and Log?

Thanks!

You only get indications on pre defined buttons, so if you want an indication you can't use it to dial something too. No you can't use the soft keys either :)

First you don't necessarily need two buttons for your existing functions. You could have a module checks the current value and toggles it.

The challenge would be that if the IP Office rebooted, it would restart with no known state of the service and therefore the button if it were possible for VMPro to set some form of generic button (sadly not).

The semi-workaround would be to have the call flow also change the status of a user's DND setting in parallel with the database change (use a Generic action set to Do Not Disturb on the $CLI). A User button for that user(room) would then reflect the status (and surely be useful for calls to the room anyway). All assuming of course that DND isn't being used for DND. Nearest I could think off.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

I'm guessing this is some kind of timestamp system where to see what hours the agents or users are working ?

I would rather have an application checking or getting the status of the user and saving the information than using VM Pro for that.
It could be triggered by several things, DND, huntgroup enable/disable, login/logoff from the phone.

You can effect button status with VM Pro, that part is easy. But you cannot use that same button to dial the code that will access the module, you would need 2 buttons for the dialling of codes and 1 that will reflect the status :)

Wouldn't some type of hospitality package be better for this type of application, sort of the way a maid with check in or out a room

Thanks for all of the Suggestions. A bit more background of the application.

It is for an Inside Sales Team to allow them selves to be available or not available to process email and phone requests. Emails come into a dashboard and then get forward to 'on-duty' staff. The Manager wanted a Button on the Phone to allow them to Check-in/Check-out to allow the Forwarding of the emails.

We have not gotten to the Calls portions. (-;

I guess I could create a 'On-Duty' Hunt Group and then have the Check-in/Check-Out button enable/disable the user in the Huntgroup and then also Insert the record into the database?

Is there a API that I can call from a external Source to Query the status of the user in a HuntGroup?

Thanks

That's exactly what an IPOCC multimedia agent is for...
