Check Box States

With check boxes what do the following states mean?

0
1

Which one means checked and which one means unchecked?

The database table shows 0 and -1, but the check box on the form shows 0 and 1.

0 usually means false or unchecked in this case. 1 or -1 usually mean true or checked. Remember that there is also a third state (2 - Grayed).
