Charting with a xml data source

I need to create a chart from a xml data source.
These are the fields i have:
Name of the runner
Distance
Elapsed time

Distance and elapsed time should be the axes.

When i try to use the chart expert,it tries to plot the
count of elapsed time.

Any ideas,please??
