Hi Chuck,
This is a relatively easy problem - go to the BO Support site and draw down article called - cr9_charting_print_time_formulas. This doco has the solution you are looking for.
I use it all the time and it works fine. It should work for CR8.5 too.
If you want an explanation of how Crystal works - go to the Help file and type in the Search box Multi-pass.
