I am trying to set a default CharPerInch. No matter what hexadecimal or decimal value I enter, the charperinch export text window doesn't change, it remains at 12.

Since going to XI (from 8.5) my text export are all messed up. I did find if I export to 25 char per inch, and view in notepad at Courier 12, my data is good, else its truncated and all kinds of stuff. My fields do not go past 22 inches (that fun bug that was never fixed).

Is this ANOTHER bug with xi????

Hi Montana, I wasn't aware of this problem, and it seems like it is indeed a undocumented enhancement (bug).

Depending upon your layout, you may be able to cheat this though.

I installed the standard HP Designjet 3500 CPS printer, created a text box, dropped in fields and text of up to 1600+ characters worth of data on a row by exporting using CSV with no characters for the delimiters and was able to get all of the output.

There were some anomalies, for instance I had to use a TOTEXT function on numerics or it occasionally hiccupped on a row (couldn't find a pattern in the time alloted, pure Voodoo, methinks), otherwise you might be able to use this technique to cheat a text output.
