Is there anybody out there who knows if it is possible to change to an autonumber field late? What I mean is I'm trying to change an ID tag from >LLL to autonumber. The reason: I underestimated how much repitition there would be for my field, and the program has gotten repetitious. There are five linked tables, and one involves the switch I am trying to make. I've tried to create a new field in the table, delete the old field, and switch the new one to autonumber and the primary key. (During this time the relationship is obviously deleted). However, my full records are not all there. Any ideas... Dan Eaton

Move the data to another table and empty the one you want to re-start. The compress the database with the Utilities. It will go baack to zero. append your data sans the idfield and voile' done.
