There is an AD structure in place here called location.business.com. It was set up as a separate domain (not forest). It was supposed to be a child domain of business.com, but someone did not set it up that way. When they ran the AD wizard, they said the parent domain was location.business.com instead of listing the parent domain as business.com. Is there a way to join the existing location.business.com to the parent (business.com) and make it a child of the business.com domain without have to create a whole new AD?

Thanks, in advance, for your help.

On the stand alone domain, you can run DCPROMO again and remove the domain.

Then run DCPROMO again and join the existing forest structure as a child domain.

I don't think that you can run a utility that will automatically join you to the proper domain. You can look at this utility but I don't think it will work:
....and smack the administrator who originally set this up wrong...
