We recently migrated from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003. During the upgrade the only account that we could perform the migration with was our network ADMIN account (the ExchAdm and DomainAdmin accounts would not work). This account was renamed prior to our AD migration to something really cryptic (for argument sake let's just say that the name is JOHN DOE).

Since we removed our last Exchange 5.5 server from the network a couple of days ago our users have been getting NDR messages from the JOHN DOE. Obviously, our users have no clue who this user is and think that it is spam. I've diabled NDR's but would still to change the "postmaster" account from the Administrator to a different account.

Can I simply remove the SMTP postmaster@mydomain address from the ADMIN account and create it for another account?

Thank you in advance for any help.
