In Word i can easily change the Style settings - eg I can change Normal.dot - Heading 1 to a different font and size and save this and voila.

However how do I do this in Outlook? I can use the defaults of Heading 1 = Times new roman 24 etc but how can i permanently change this to Arial?

Thanks
Jdog

To find what your looking for, select tools (click on it), click on options, click on compose there you will find fonts and size and even colors.

I know how to do tha part .....its changing them permanently that i would like to do....as you can do by changing normal.dot in word.

Click on font setting for mail. Should see font and size selections. Choose what you want click OK. On same page you chose font setting for mail you will have click on APPLY. I am under the impression that this works. If not leave another message and I investigate further.

This does not work.... i will explain what i am doing fully

Outlook 97 - default mail setting is plain text.
create new mail message
go to Format - tick rich text

now you have an option drop down box which says "normal" and one next to it with font and then size

If i type "heading 1" and then select the text and from the drop down box above pick HEADING1 it changes the font to Times new roman and the size to 24.

This is the part i want to change PERMANTLY ... i know i can change the HEADING 1 settings for this one message but you have to do this every time you create a new mail message.
