Changing Service Location

A long story short: One of our XPpro machines is running its services from its E: drive rather than the C: drive. How to change this?

Are you talking about a Microsoft or Non-Microsoft Service?

What else is installed on E: Drive, and what is on C: Drive?


Services locations can be found in this Reg Key.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services

To change a location you would have to re-install the actual service (which means re-installing Windows or the application that installed the service).
