the enable password has been changed and we cannot doa password recovery. We know the SNMP read/write. Is there a way of changing the enable password on the router using ciscoworks2000

If it's not encrypted, break into the romon, reset the control registers to not load the startup-config, reload, do a show startup-config, and see the password. Then reset the registers back to normal and reload.

Hi Joe,

I wrote a faq on recovering / resetting passwords using SNMP. Click on the FAQs tab at the top of the page.
