From the System | Telephony tab, the default ring tone for each call type (distinctive ringing) can be configured. The setting for an individual user can be altered from the system default through each user's User | Telephony tab. These ring tone settings only apply to analog phones. For the Avaya 2400, 4400, 4600, 5400 and 5600 series phones, the ring tone for each call type are predefined within the phones themselves.
It used to work in 2.1 but no longer in 3.0 and was never intended to work at all.
