Does anybody know how to change paste settings in Word 2003? When pasting text from one document to another, Word automatically uses the 'Use destination formatting' option on the paste menu that pops up. I need it to use the 'Use source formatting' as the default.

Why not record a macro and assign it to a keyboard shortcut?

I think you'll find this behavour can't be changed and, in the case of pasting unformatted text, all of the pasted text takes on the attributes of the para into which it is pasted.

The reason is simple: All of your paras will be based on underlying styles in both documents and, where the style names in the source & target documents are the same, the pasted paras take on the attributes of the style of the same name in the target document.

The only exceptions to the above are where you've 'hard-formatted' text contrary to the underlying style definitions.

Cheers
