changing monitors

I changed monitors on my pc and everything boots up ok. After the windows 2000 screen comes on I get a dispaly that say,,,,"are your pc display settings correct?" After a few sec,,,my screen goes black,,,,no desktop or anything,,,,How can I fix this,,,pc is working but I can't see anything,,,can anyone help? I have tried to click on keys but nothing helps,,,,

your monitor cant cope withe the choosen resolution, do a save boot, replace monitor in device manager, set new display mode and you should be fine.
