I need to change the IP address of a Domain Controller. The DC is for a domain within a forest. I was wondering if anyone could let me know the implications of doing this before I go ahead and do it.

Thanks

Theoretically there must be no problems. But practically, it is better to test in in a test environment first.

Good Luck.

If your clients are mapping by name, then you should be OK. Make sure to do an IPCONFIG /REGISTERDNS to update the name and IP. And you'll probably have to do an IPCONFIG /FLUSHDNS on the clients to make them look to the new IP...

Thanks,
