I have an HP 4050N printer on my network. It has been giving me trouble so I loaned another printer from someone to test against the original. Problem: The loaned printer has a different IP address than my printer. How do I change it on the loaner? I looked on the control panel under IP settings but no info there on how to change it.

You should be able to change it under the EIO settings, Configure Network --> Configure TCP/IP

you could also do it via the web page on the Jet Admin page. Just remember that when you apply the new IP address, that the page will do a post back (refresh) and give you a page not found. That is because the old IP address is in the URL. Telneting should also work, I like the web page better.
