hello

I am in the process of redesigning a web site and plan to move the home page into a CF-version. It would not be possible for me to go and change every link on the current site from index.htm to index.cfm, so I am thinking of changing the code on index.htm file so it automatically redirects to index.cfm - it would take care of immediate link connectivity....

Now, I am puzzled as to what do I need to do to make index.cfm the default home page for the server and would there be any complications having index.htm or index.cfm for the same site.

I am on IIS (will need contact IT to do the changes). So what should I ask the IT guys to do... Am aware this in not a direct CF question, but am sure you must have handled something like this in the past.

Thanks!

If I am reading you correctly, you just need to ask the IT guys to "point" the default home page to "index.cfm" instead of "index.htm".

It's really simple if you have access the this IIS snap-in.

Cheers,
Mark

Yup those were the words I was looking for - I do not have access to the IIS admin - but I guess I should just tell them to do that for me? I was not familiar with the lingo for "default home page" for the server...
