Hello all,

Im sure this is another, hiding in program, easy question. Our recorded message for our main line says we are only ope Mon-Thurs and I need to change it. Where in the programming is that particular one located?

MICS 7.0
Norstar T7316 phones

"Silence is golden, duct tape is silver...

is this an auto attendant, general delivery mailbox??

need more info

What voice mail system is attached to the MICS?

Btw, you can get duct tape in red and other colors too!

....JIM....

Honestly not sure about any of the questions asked. I think it is the auto attendant. The message on there currently directs the caller to enter an extension if known, press 0 for an operator, or leave a message. Then a prerecorded system message comes on with the option of viewing a company directory, reaching the operator, or leaving a message.

To better answer you questions, is there anyway through the programming I can answer those questions? Per phoneguy610, I know with most personally recorded messages, it gives you the option to listen to the previous recording before changing. If I could find the area either of the things you suggested are, I could narrow it down to what I'm hearing. Per SYQUEST, as far as the physical hardware goes, I dont know and looking around the 110 block segments, everything seems to be labeled Nortel/Norstar.

if its is the auto attendant im going to definitely recommend hiring a vendor to come out. I have seen customers try and figure it out themselves, and end up deleting the entire message so when people call in they just hear silence. Plus you have to program the paths and everything else. if it was just a general delivery or something like that i would say give it a shot. It may seem like alot for a vendor, but it will end up costing you MUCH more if you make a mistake and it takes the vendor longer to fix.

if you want to give it a shot though i am assuming you have the password for logging into call pilot via f983?

I do have the PW for that, yes. Not sure how daunting of a task it will be but I have had the ability to do most of the Line and Extension programming without messing anything up but granted that's not the hardest to do.

when you log into the call pilot menu go to AA

you will have to search in there for the greeting (i would assume it is greeting 1)

when you find the greeting you hear now then rerecord what you want to have

if you want to setup different paths, you are going to have to setup a CCR tree (which will be under CCR at the f983 menu.)

after configuring the ccr tree you must activate that tree in the AA you are using

You are correct that is right where it was, greeting changed thanks to your help.

Thanks again and Im sure Ill be back with another programming question to rack your brain!
