Changing format in Access report based on left or right page

I'm printing a report that will be bound. I want the page number to always be on the outside of the page and the date to always be on the inside. I've been able to do this using the page mod function; however, I also want to draw a line extending under the date (whichever side it's on) to the center of the page number ( whichever side it's on). Is there a way I can modify the line based on page mod? Or is there some other way?
