Hello-
I am trying to be able to change font in a text box in a word 2000 template. Whenever I create a new doc from the template, the text font, font size, italics, bold, etc. cannot be changed. Also when it is in the text boxes, you cannot do a spell check. Is there any way around this, or should I type it first in normal word doc and transfer it?

Thanks!!!

If it is from a template - why are you trying to change it? That is what template are for, to have a standard font, size etc for things. However, that being said, if you can not change it, then it is probably protected.

It may also be that the "textbox" may be a different kind of textbox, uh, well, there are a number of "textboxes". If it is an ActiveX textbox, the only way you can change it is by switching to Design View and altering the Properties. So...it depends. What does this textbox look like? Does it seem sort of sunken?

If it is an InLineShapes textbox, then you should be able to change format, unless it is protected.

If it is a formfield textbox, then the document IS protected, and no you can't.

As for spellchecking, depending on the situations, it may be possible. But likely only via code.
