Changing font in input and multi-line input boxs

Well as the subject suggests how do you change the font for an input box from it's usual default?

Like this:
<input type=&quot;text&quot; name=&quot;text1&quot; style=&quot;text-decoration:underline;font-size:40px;font-weight:900;&quot;>

You could do the same for a TEXTAREA

<textarea name=&quot;text2&quot; style=&quot;color:blue;backgroun-color:red;font-style:eek:blique;&quot;></textarea>

thanks for the quick responce. Ironically my brain kicked in after i had posted this and i realised what i should of been doing.
