My mother checked the box to "always use this program to open this type of file" and it was the wrong program. I know that there is a way to change it but I can't remember how. Please help!!

Thanks,
Brandon

Brandon:

Try this:

Open My Computer, click on Views from the Menu Bar and select Options. In the displayed dialog box, click on the File Types tab.

Use the down arrow key (or scroll bar) to go through the list until you find the extension you want to change.

Click on the Edit button and, in the new dialog box that opens, click on edit again. Use the browse button to find the appropriate application to use with that extension.

Let me know if that helps.

Jim:

Nice trick and certainly faster than by suggestion.

Isn't that hold down the Shift key while Right-clicking on the file to get the Open With... option?
