I am going to change the Administrator password for my domain, create a new user with Domain Admin permissions and reduce the administrator to be std user.

Will doing this have any effect on how Citrix performs ? i.e. for instance can any user with Administrator permissions log on the Management console or does it have to be the Administrator user ?

I'd suggest you go into the CMC first and add yourself or someone else as an administrator of the farm. Then you can rename or disable the admin account to your heart's content.

Citrix otherwise shouldn't be affected by just dropping the administrator account to a normal user, but of course you might want to check that other servers etc aren't affected - frequently SQL/Database and tape backup servers have services installed that require (or by default are installed with) an administrator account and changing the password or rights will of course either stop them from working or cause other issues. Definitely a good idea to do, just be careful when doing it. Oh, and of course make sure any servers/workstations that may currently be logged on as the administrator are logged off, otherwise they will lock the account when they try to reauthenticate after the password is changed....

Cheers
