how can i change the authentication mode via query analyzer.
right now it is set to windows authentication and i want it to be sql server authentication only.
i use sql server 2000 and i could only connect via my windows login. i am an administrator on my PC.
Thanks

You cannot have SQL authentication only. You can either have Windows only or Windows and SQL.

The easiest way of changing this is thru EM - right-click server, Properties.

You can change the LOGINS to be Windows Authentication Only or SQL Server Authentication ONLY, but you can only set SQL Server to use Windows Authentication Only or Mixed Mode (Windows and SQL Server authentication).
