I have just joined an organization where the core router (Cisco 3640) has the fastethernet port 0/0 set to 10 Mb. Others here in I/T say that when they have attempted to set it to 100 Mb, "things get weird" (connection to the core 4006 switch dropped).
What things should I be looking at to be proactive in planning to get that port to work at 100 Mb? I am thinking someone out there may have run into similar issues. Could it be as simple as changing both the switch port and the router interface to 100?
On the 4006 switch the port is set to: Duplex=Full, Speed=10, Type=10/100BaseTX. On the 3640 router the FastEthernet 0/0 is set to Speed 10, full-duplex.
