Change tick in check box to a cross

When using check boxes in excel, is it possible to change the 'tick' to another character, such as a cross?

I've seen it done in word using vb, but am having difficulty finding any examples where it has been done in excel.

AFAIK, this is not possible in VBA. You may be able to find some associated OLE objecs that do this but you would need to import and reference them manually - not seen a way to do it natively in excel...
