My router already has an Ip address set for TFTP. I need to change this to a new IP.

After reading my posting I thought I should define the setup some more.

Cisco 2600 Router is connected to a Cisco PIX Firewall which is then connected to my network. Now I have configured the PIX to know the IP of the workstation that is running TFTP (which I'm using Solarwinds). My Router on the other hand has an TFTP-Server IP in the configuration that at one time was an active IP. I now want to change the IP in the router to my current workstation. I can't find anywhere that would explain how to perform this task. I have tried the copy to TFTP command and all I get in return is the following:

%Error opening tftp://111.111.111.11/runnig-config (Undefined Error) (do to security reasons I can't post IP address)

I need to be able to upgrade my IOS on both the firewall and Router. Also grab the logs off the systems so I can generate a report to be sent to the main office.

Any help is truly appreciated.

Ray

I'll take a shot here , there normally is no tftp address on a router you use a router interface or a loopback address for the router . If you are trying to copy the running config to your solarwinds server you can do the following.
At the prompt on the router>
Write net , hit enter , it will ask you for the tftp server (solarwinds address) , enter that and hit enter again and it will ask you for the name of the file on the solarwinds server you want to name it such as router-confg or whatever you choose to name the file. Normally you will have to have the router config file defined on the tftp server beforehand and the correct permissions that will allow you to write it to the file . Of course you will have to make sure you can get to the Solarwinds server , check by pinging the solarwinds address before starting above procedure .
