Using the Crystal SQL Designer creates an xBase table, that Crystal Reports then calls for reporting purposes. Crystal Decisions doesn't recommend using their *.qry files for distributed applications - although I'm not sure if this is because they are slow, consume large amounts of space, are difficult to update (even manually), or are just plain unreliable.
