Hello,

Probably it's a silly question, but I am really stuck and looking for an advice!!

While installing W2K I've made a "mistake" and registered the software under a different name and title.

So, could anyone please tell me what should I do in order to change the registered &quot;label&quot; of the software?? I mean when right-click om 'My Computer'->Properties->and product W2K registered to: <Name> (I need to change that name).

I would appreciate ANY advice.
Thanks in advance

Sergis

Well, you could use Sysprep. This would require that you re-input the product ID also--but it should do the trick.

sysprep is what many computer companies use to reset registration info for each individual customer after a PC is built via cloning the hard drive.

You can download sysprep for windows 2000 from MS's website. Mudskipper

sysrep's also on the 2k install CD. has a nice tweak utility which includes this functionality (its under system/user data using the 'Default UI for power users').

Thanks, wolluf LOL LOL
I have been using sysprep for quite some time and never even thought to look on the stinkin' CD for it!

That's funny. Just another example of looking for the simple solution first!! Mudskipper
