I have a report with the fields
Discipline Name Acting as group header in ascending order
"ID" acting as Group header in Ascending Order.
"Document Title" in detail section in ascending Order.

If i want to sort the report first by "Discipline name" and then by "Document Title" ignoring the "ID" sort order how to do that?

Regards and Thanks

Charley

Do you want to do this using code???

If not, then I would just use the Report wizard to create a new version of the report called something like "ReportNameByDisciplineDocument"

If you do not need to group by ID you should remove this grouping level altogether. By definition if something falls within a group it is sorted only within that group level. In this case you have two levels of grouping nested within each other before you get to the detail level(which has it's own sort order). Access does not allow an unsorted group level. In your scenario Only those documents contained in one group under one discipline will display then the next set of documents under the next group under the same discipline will display, and so on until all groups are satisfied for that discipline. Then it starts over for the next discipline.
