I have a report that of course has a query that runs that creates the recordset for the report.

I would like to change this to a different query without recreating the entire report.

Is there some simple method of associating this report with a different query?

Please help it is hurting my brainz...

You can simply change the data source of the report. However, if the field names in the new query are different than the original query you will have to re-bind your controls in the report.

Hope this helps.

Try this:

Create the new query which you want to use instead.

Open the report in design view

Display the report properties window, and click on the 'Data' tab

Click the drop-down arrow next to 'Record Source' and choose the new query name from the list

Save the changes.

Of course, this only works if the two queries include the same fields.
