I think you'd need to have access to the console/service port. If you remote to the unit and remove the current IP, you're going to lose access to the box.
I've heard it can be done remotely via the management interface, but I wouldn't risk running "no ip address" remotely
Now - easy way around all this is to connect to the service ports via ethernet and do it there, low risk if you have access to the computer via wireless or a second NIC.
