Change how a qurey field pulls to a report

Ok I have a query that has a field emplno that if I run the qurey it will print the emplno has smith,John But when I pull that field over in to a report I get 121 which is John's employee number. I would like it to pull in the qurey and the report has John Smith. With out changing my table. The table I'm using is tblcustomer in the qurey but in tbl customer it pulls the emplno number has smith,John from a table called tblEmployee.
