Whenever we try to open an excel 2000 spreadsheet, we get an error message that the templet is unknown. It appears that something else is trying to open the excel files.

We can create a blank spreadsheet in excel 2000. When we save it and close it, we are unable to re-open it with excel.

How do you change the file associations in windows 98?

TIA

Open Windows Explorer > View > Folder Options > File Types > select the file extension > Edit
