I have a linux 7.2 server with perl. When I view the *.cgi file, i see the code, not the cgi/html. I chmod'd to rwxrwxr-x but can't figure out why code is displaying instead of the form.

Look up the faqs or search this form for ScriptHandler which is a setting in your apache configuration file

It's important in life to always strike a happy medium, so if you see someone with a crystal ball, and a smile on their face ...

You might take a look at the faqs in the CGI forum and/or post your question there.

'hope this helps

by now, u probably know:
1. cgi must be executed by a server, not a browser - you must have httpd running
2. to run a script, it must be in cgi-bin

guys - thanks for the tips - I decided to wipe everything clean and try again with RH9.0
