cfmail not working anymore!!!

I have a dating site.. the site sends out approximately 5000 emails a day. It launched a few months ago and started out fine until the past week where it has stopped sending out mail. FIrstly I checked the logs on the server and there were errors in the mail log regarding disk space. So more space was freed up and it starting sending again.. then it collapsed again.. so I rebooted server (remotely) and it starting sending again.. now its stopped. the mail.log on the CF server is full of this:

A problem occurred when attempting to deliver mail. This exception was caused by: coldfusion.mail.MailSpooler$SpoolLockTimeoutException: A timeout occurred while waiting for the lock on the mail spool directory..

Can anyone pleeeease help me here.

let me also say... i've checked the spool and undv directories on the server and there's no zero byte mails in the spool directory.. there's come in the undv directory though. But there's 5000 perfectly fine emails in the spool directory that aren't being sent.
