In a local server situation using PWS/MTS, Windows 98, Access database, CF Single User Server, and Studio 4.5. I have registered my database in the Administrator, yet when I attampt to select a database from Studio database tab, I get 'Connection to server cannot be established'...i have tried to use RDS but still no results. I also can't right click on the database entries to delete old one and start again?

If RDS is looking for a password will it prompt for one if not entered. I thing by dafault the Administrator set one...is it the same as the Administrator...I unchecked it on my last attempt/

Try adding a new RDS Server, name it LocalServer for example, specify IP (127.0.0.1) and try connecting again.
If you still have trouble with Studio and Administrator passwords, check out It's all about recapturing the Administrator password. Remember to use CFREGISTRY for the suggested code. Hope this helps. <webguru>iqof188</webguru>

Try updating your data access components. I had this same issue a while back and I think that did the trick. You can find them on the Microsoft site under MDAC I believe.

Good luck,
Joe

I found my oun fix, Allaire identified a problem with CFRDSServer.exe for windows 95 & 98. They have a fix with a new exe that corrects the RDS to Studio problem mentioned. Go to their fix page for Studio!! It works!!
